Toronto, ON May 12, 2014 The Canadian Association of Foodservice Professionals/Association canadienne des professionnels des services alimentaires (CAFP/ACPSA) announced Meghan Todd as the 2014 National Aramark Gold Plate award recipient at its annual conference held in Ottawa, ON in April. Meghan is a recent graduate from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Nutrition. Meghan founded Acadia University’s CAFP Student Branch in 2012, serving as its first President in 2012 -13, ans then again in 2013 -14. Under her leadership, she guided a dedicated Executive and successfully built the membership from 29 to 60 students in only one year. Her dedication and passion for food service and talent for team development has brought about one of the strongest and most active CAFP student branches of the 2013 - 2014 year.

Beyond the food and nutrition field, Meghan served as the Acadia Student Union (ASU) Volunteer Coordinator aiding students in creating and sourcing volunteer opportunities, and ran the most successful Shinerama campaign to date during the 2012 Frosh Week. Meghan is passionate about raising funds and awareness toward a cure for Cystic Fibrosis (CF). During the Summer of 2012, she trained for and participated in ‘The Big Swim’, swimming 13 kms from New Brunswick to PEI in honour of her friend, Carter, who lives with CF.

In addition to these and much more, Meghan is also the proud new mother of a healthy baby boy, Kai. Congratulations Meghan for all of your accomplishments and we look forward to your continued participation with the CAFP!
